Lava Troll Sketch

Yeah, it's not very polished (I could have done more w/ her clothes at least), but oh well, it was fun to crank out an idea. While there aren't really "types" of trolls in this sense (forest, lava, mountain, etc) in the myths and legends, it's still pretty fun to reimagine the idea of a troll from the perspective of our contemporary ecological imagination--both in the idea of independent, natural species, and in our inclination to create creatures that are reflections of some iconic element of their environment.  Oh, and not that this makes the picture especially authentic or anything, but her hair is inspired by the viking age style that I mention in my blog post on dressing like vikings: vikingsbooksetc.wordpress.com/…
